Progress reports for my child’s IEP never arrive
The IEP names a schedule for progress reports, and a full marking period has closed since the last one reached you. No: the IEP itself has to state when progress reports will be provided, so a period that closes with no report is a term of the IEP going unmet (34 CFR 300.320, at (a)(3)(ii)). Start by pulling the IEP page or the letter the dispute turns on and writing down today’s date; every move below adds to that record.
What the rule says
“When periodic reports on the progress the child is making toward meeting the annual goals (such as through the use of quarterly or other periodic reports, concurrent with the issuance of report cards) will be provided”

The schedule is written into the IEP, so a busy quarter at school changes nothing about when a report reaches you.
What to do this week, in order
Open the IEP to the page listing the reporting schedule and write down every date this year a report should have gone out.
Your own log of the schedule’s due dates
Match each due date against what actually arrived, marking the periods that passed without any report reaching you at all.
A count of periods closed with nothing sent
Request the outstanding reports and their goal data from the case manager, naming the IEP page that sets the schedule.

If reports keep missing their schedule, ask the team to meet and review whether the annual goals are being achieved.

What to put in writing
Replace what sits in brackets and send it by email, so the date is fixed.

If the answer is no, it arrives as prior written notice: what was refused, why, and the records the district relied on (34 CFR 300.503(b)).
When to escalate, and to whom
Escalate when the written answer is a no, or when the record you built this week draws no answer at all.
